Typography Showcase 2

Rogaine Advertising Poster

Amazing use of typography to translate the message from the company to the viewer.
Another great example of the actual concept being blended into the final piece.

Typography Showcase I

I ran into this image and thought it was very well created.
The way the actual concept is blended into the final piece is amazing.

Robert BrownJohn

One of his work really got my attention and made me want to learn more about him.

small booklet called "watching Words Move" (1962)

Brownjohn, once said about this piece:

" I think the revolution in typography has been in terms of image. The picture and the word have become one thing. The only real advance in advertising typography has been in the use of type not as an adjunct to an illustration or the image but in its use as the image itself."

The concept changed forever how a generation of designers thought about typography. Never before had the idea been so clear that type itself could speak (www.hollanders.com)

Some interesting Ambigram Logos

"An ambigram, also sometimes known as an inversion, or flipscript, is a graphical figure that spells out one or more words not only as presented, but also in another direction or orientation" (from Wikipedia).

I found these samples while researching for our figure-ground project and I thought it would be a great thing to share.
